The bathroom felt very basic and could use some upgrades. Additionally, the lack of consistent services, such as only being provided one 500 ml drinking water bottle per day, felt a bit stingy. Having to handle payment upfront for an extended stay added to the discomfort of dealing with management, and the overall stay seemed marred by these experiences.

The stay at Orchid Homes in Gigiri had some highlights. The staff made fresh breakfasts tailored to dietary needs. They remembered preferences from day to day, which was a lovely touch. The location is fantastic, just a 15-minute walk to the UN compound, perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls. I enjoyed the nice outdoor sitting area for some fresh air. However, I faced an issue with the room I booked. It felt more like a repurposed space in a staff area. The room lacked ventilation, making it feel quite stuffy, and I couldn't open the window. Additionally, the shower had visible patches from repairs. Minor inconveniences like these could have been easily improved. Despite these issues, the accommodating staff truly stood out to me.
